Our tours starts at the western part of the Reykjanes Peninsula, famous for its surreal, lunar-like landscapes and rugged expanses of lava. After approximately 3 hours of driving, we stop for lunch, then continue eastwards to Krisuvik, well known for its geothermal fields, where you can see volcanic steam vents, mud pots and hot springs and wonder at the strange coloured earth.
We then drive on the gravel road called Vigdisarvellir, surrounded by mountains, stopping on the way to see the very special Lake Kleifarvatn, where underwater hot springs have recently been discovered. We also stop at the geothermal area of Seltun.
