Reykjanes Peninsula is located on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, one of the world's major tectonic plate boundaries. This is where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates are continuously drifting apart, having created huge rifts as a result of the tension that builds up as the plates diverge. The Leif the Lucky's Bridge, known as the Bridge between two continents, is a small footbridge over a major fissure at Sandvik, where you can clearly see evidence of this activity.

● The drop off in Reykjavik may sometimes not be right in front of your hotel/guesthouse due to narrow streets and actual coach size used during the tour.
